A cinematic, new-age score.Secret In The Heart documents the first two meetings of violinist Zachary Paul and musician/producer Nick Podgurski. Podgurski joins Paul with an assortment of synthesizers and ambient pads. Wielding stillness gracefully; it is somber, hopeful, and alive. A paradoxical movement between mood and perception permeates the silence. Composed and arranged from two sessions in the fall/winter of 2021-2022 this was the first time the pair had played together despite being each active composers/improvisers in New York's new age, classical, and experimental scenes. Secret In The Heart conjures touchstones in the work of the late Mark Hollis, Ryuichi Sakamoto & Alva Noto's Soundtrack to The Revenant, Arvo Part, and Angelo Badalamenti.
